Military Connected Families

New Braunfels ISD welcomes all military families to our school district! We aim to provide support and resources to ease the transition of our military families and welcome them to the NBISD community.

New Braunfels ISD is committed to engaging, empowering, and supporting every learner, including students and families connected to military service. Rooted in a rich legacy dating back to 1845 as one of the first publicly funded school districts in Texas, NBISD has a longstanding tradition of community support and student-centered education. This commitment aligns with the Purple Star Campus Designation, which recognizes schools that intentionally support military-connected students through thoughtful transitions, access to resources, and a welcoming school environment.

Through strong academic programming and comprehensive extracurricular opportunities, NBISD fosters adaptability, collaboration, curiosity, interpersonal intelligence, and problem-solving—key attributes outlined in the district’s Profile of a Learner. Military-connected students benefit from inclusive instructional programs such as Pre-K, Dual Language, Advanced Placement and Dual Credit, Career and Technical Education, Special Education, Gifted and Talented, and Effective Behavioral Intervention Supports, as well as award-winning Fine Arts, athletics, co-curricular programs, and the nationally recognized Marine Corps JROTC. These supports ensure students are empowered both inside and outside the classroom while maintaining continuity and connection during periods of transition. Information on the rights covered under the Compact on Educational Opportunity for military families can be found here.

NBISD is conveniently located near Randolph Air Force Base.
