The New Braunfels High School Unicorn volleyball team took third at a super competitive 49th annual Fraulein Volleyfest, co-hosted by NBHS from August 21–23. Facing a talented field of 32 teams from across Texas, the Unicorns battled their way to an outstanding third-place finish with a tournament record of 8-1.

The Unicorns were nearly unstoppable, going undefeated on Thursday and Friday without dropping a single set. Wins included Gregory Portland, Langham Creek, and Leander on Thursday, followed by Georgetown, Kerrville Tivy, and Cedar Park on Friday.

On Saturday in the Gold Bracket, the Unicorns continued their strong play with a straight-set victory over Colleyville Heritage. After falling in a close contest to eventual champions Lake Travis, the Unicorns bounced back, defeating Round Rock in the third-place game.

Kendall Kreusler and Emma Harrington were recognized for their outstanding play by being named to the All-Tournament Team. The Unicorns improved their overall season record to 17-4 and will now look ahead to a big district showdown against Pieper on Tuesday, August 26.
