New Braunfels High School track and field athletes are headed to the next level of competition after strong performances at the Area Meet held at Canyon High School. Several Unicorns earned top finishes and secured their spots in the Regional Meet, set for May 1-2 at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio.

Leading the way for New Braunfels was standout sprinter Kingston Brown, who captured the Area Championship titles in both the 100-meter and 200-meter races. He will continue his postseason run at the regional meet, where he will also compete as part of the 4×100-meter relay team.

On the girls’ side, Paige Beeghley delivered an impressive performance in the pole vault, earning a second-place finish and punching her ticket to regionals. Distance runner Savanah Moya also turned in a strong showing, qualifying in both the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs after placing third in each event.

In the boys’ pole vault, Gavin Starnes secured a regional berth with a third-place finish, while teammate Collin Sweet also advanced after placing fourth.

The Unicorns’ 4×100-meter relay team will be well represented at the regional meet. Joining Kingston Brown on the relay squad are Stephen Brown, Kenneth Harper, and Colton Butler, who qualified after finishing fourth at the area meet.

The Unicorns will compete against top athletes from across the in Class 5A Region 4 as they aim for a chance to advance to the state meet.
