After several weather-related delays and schedule changes, the New Braunfels High School Unicorn baseball team claimed the Bi-District Championship, getting the sweep over Leander Glenn. The Unicorns will now advance to the area round of the UIL Class 5A state playoffs.

Game 1 was already in progress before the rain interrupted play, resumed at NBHS and the Unicorns claimed an 8-7 win. The team carried that momentum into Game 2, dominating with a  9-1 win to seal the series.

With the bi-district title secured, the Unicorns now set their sights on the Area Championship, where they will face San Antonio Southwest in a best-of-three series:

• Game 1: Thursday, May 9th, at San Antonio ISD’s Field 1 – 7pm – Tickets 
• Game 2: Friday, May 10th, at New Braunfels High School – 7pm – Tickets 
• Game 3 (if needed): Saturday, May 11th, at the North East ISD Sports Complex – Noon

The winner of this series will advance to the regional semifinals and take on the winner of the La Joya Palmview vs. McAllen Rowe matchup.
