Long Creek High School had a strong showing at the Area Track Meet, with three student-athletes earning spots at the upcoming regional competition.

Three Long Creek athletes have officially advanced to the Regional Track Meet, which will take place on May 1-2 at Texas A&M University–Kingsville.

Saul Rubio turned in an impressive performance in two events, placing fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.85 seconds. He followed that up with another fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:02.06.

Distance runner Juanez Treviño also delivered a standout performance, earning third place in both of his races. Treviño posted a time of 10:31 in the 3200-meter run and 4:42 in the 1600-meter run.

In the field events, Camden Hernandez soared to a second-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 8.25 inches. His mark secured his spot at regionals.

These athletes will now represent Long Creek High School at the regional meet, where they will compete for a chance to advance to the state competition. Congratulations to Saul Rubio, Juanez Treviño, and Camden Hernandez on their accomplishments, and best of luck as they continue their season at Texas A&M University–Kingsville.
