NBISD and food service partner SFE are excited to announce the launch of a delicious new year of Child Nutrition events! On Wednesday, Sept. 18, Chef Jamoll and the SFE Child Nutrition team brought their culinary expertise to Seele Elementary for the first of many planned Roving Chef and Farmers Market events throughout the school year.

Last year, SFE hosted numerous Roving Chef and Farmers Market event and several NBISD schools.

During the Roving Chef activity, students had a fantastic time learning how to ice and decorate their very own cakes. In the past, students have made pizza, decorated cookies and cupcakes and more.

The accompanying Farmers Market was a hit as well, introducing students to a variety of new and nutritious fruits and vegetables such as plums, snap peas and jicama.

“Students had a blast learning how to ice and decorate their very own cakes during the roving chef activity,” said Celeste Windham, Dietitian and Nutrition Coordinator. “We can’t wait to continue this fun-filled experience across NBISD for the rest of the school year. Stay tuned for more food, fun and learning!”
