Exciting news from the New Braunfels High School Cross Country Team!

Savanah Moya, a sophomore, is headed to the UIL State Championships after securing a bronze medal at the regional meet that was held on October 22nd at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She will be representing the Unicorns against the top Class 5A runner in the state of Texas.

Moya will run in the state event on November 2nd at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. This is Moya’s second straight trip to the state meet. As a freshman, Moya finished in 43rd place in Class 6A, the largest classification of high school sports in the state. The Unicorns moved down a classification this year in UIL realignment due to the opening of Long Creek High School.

The Unicorn girls’ team also put up a strong showing, finishing fifth overall in the regional competition. The boys’ team placed sixth overall at regionals.
