The New Braunfels ISD Council of PTA along with NBISD students participated in Texas PTA Rally Day 2025 on Monday, February 24th, at the Texas State Capitol in Austin. This event included bringing together parents, educators, and community leaders to advocate for every child’s education, health, and well-being.
The NBISD PTA Council advocated for legislative issues that directly impact NBISD students. This year’s theme is “Legacy in Action” and celebrates the impact of PTA advocacy while inspiring members to build on its foundation for future generations.
Texas PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Rally Day provides a platform for every voice and perspective.
Rally Day included the PTA, educators and students meeting with legislators to discuss key issues impacting education. There was also a rally on the Capitol steps to unite a collective voice.
The NBISD PTA Council focused on the following priorities:
- Supporting local leaders.
- Operating effectively as a Council PTA.
- Promoting National and Texas PTA initiatives.
The NBISD PTA Council also presented a list of goals that they have for this school year. Those goals include:
- Advocate for school safety.
- Strengthen the bond between the community and PTA under the motto: COMMUNITY + PTA = UNITY.
- Encourage leadership development through local PTAs.
- Bring legislative issues to the forefront.
- Continue efforts to increase membership across the community.
