The New Braunfels ISD Special Education Department recently hosted the 100 Rides Celebration at both Oak Run Middle School (October 30) and New Braunfels Middle School (October 31), to recognize the high needs students district-wide with the 100 Rides Challenge.

The challenge, held in partnership with the Believe It Foundation, encourages activity, inclusion, and fun for all students. Each class works toward completing 100 adaptive bike rides, to promote teamwork, goal-setting, and community while ensuring every student can participate. Some students even learned to ride for the very first time!

This year, NBISD expanded the challenge into a district-wide competition, with classrooms tracking their rides on spreadsheets. The data not only helps students see their progress but also ties into lessons in math, goal-setting, and friendly competition.

To mark the milestone, students completed their 100th ride around the track while being cheered on by the dance teams, bands, and cheerleaders. After crossing the finish line, participants received certificates and enjoyed ice cream to celebrate.
