New Braunfels Middle School hosted the 2nd Annual Meet in the Middle: Battle of the Books for NBISD Middle Schools on Saturday, May 11. 

This event brought together readers from across the district to compete in a quiz-bowl style competition.

Throughout the year, students formed their own teams, practiced and prepared for the event. Unlike the elementary Battle of the Books competition, teams competed against one another, not by school affiliation.

The winning teams were: 

First Place: Elizabeth Briggs, Molly Clark, Reese Dischinger – The Bookies, Oak Run Middle School

Second Place: Emma Grijalva, Harper Jorden, Beth Austad, Eleanor Genger, Brooklyn Walker – The McBeth’s, New Braunfels Middle School

Third Place: Kinley Lange, Olivia Green, Demi Nunn, Khloe Smith
