Two New Braunfels ISD golfers have qualified to play in the regional championships later this month.

New Braunfels High School golfer Natan Cruz is headed to McAllen to compete in the Class 5A Region 4 Golf Tournament on April 16th and 17th.

Cruz, a senior, earned his spot at regionals following a strong showing in the district competition, which was held at the beginning of April. A coveted spot at the state tournament will be on the line as Cruz will be up against the top golfers in the region.

The men’s regional golf championship is held at the Champions Lake Golf Club. Meanwhile, the UIL State Golf Tournament will be held at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown. 

The Unicorn golf team is coached by Glenn Phair. 

Long Creek High School golfer Josh Szynski has also qualified for the regional event in Class 4A for Region 4. The regional tournament will be held at the Club at Colony Creek in Victoria on April 16th and 17th.

Szynski, a freshman, had a strong showing at his first district tournament, and he will be the first Dragon golfer to compete at the regional level. He will be vying for a slot in the state championships, which will be held May 5th and 6th at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland.

The Dragon golf team is coached by Russell Lincoln.
