NBISD is excited to announce that all eligible staff will be receiving a 2% raise (on the midpoint) for the 2025-26 school year, after the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the raise at tonight’s regular meeting. In addition to this increase, eligible classroom teachers will receive additional pay through the Teacher Retention Allotment. Eligible auxiliary and paraprofessional staff members will also receive an extra 2% increase in pay.
Teacher Retention Allotment Pay
As part of the Texas Legislature recently passing Texas House Bill 2, the Teacher Retention Allotment will provide eligible teachers (three or more years teaching experience) with an additional payment based on their years of service.
In addition to the 2% pay scale median increase of $1,261 for all teachers, teachers in their third and fourth years will receive a payment of $1,239 as designated by the Teacher Retention Allotment, which amounts to a total increase of $2,500 for the 2025-26 school year. Teachers with five or more years of experience will receive an additional payment of $3,739 as part of the Teacher Retention Allotment — bringing their total increase to $5,000 for the upcoming year.
First and second year teachers, librarians and special education facilitators will receive the 2% raise, but are not eligible for the additional payment under the state’s Teacher Retention Allotment.
Auxiliary and Paraprofessional Staff
All eligible auxiliary and paraprofessional staff will receive an additional raise of 2% for a total of 4% for the 2025-26 school year. The increase in pay is intended to help minimize the financial impact of rising healthcare costs and reflects the district’s commitment to supporting the essential staff who play a critical role in serving our students every day.
“We would like to thank the Board for their decision to invest in our staff,” said Dr. Laurelyn Arterbury, NBISD Superintendent of Schools. “Their support reflects that our employees are appreciated for their contributions to the success of our students.”
