New Braunfels ISD Board Secretary Morgan Renaud has been selected to participate in the Leadership TASB Class of 2027, an honor awarded by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) to school board trustees who demonstrate a commitment to strong governance, student-focused leadership and public school advocacy.

“Every era brings its own challenges, but public schools remain one of our greatest communities for good, relentlessly showing up for kids and families every single day. Even in a time when public education faces heavy scrutiny, I am constantly inspired by the incredible impact our schools make,” Renaud said. “To honor that work, we must lead with strong conviction and ensure our school board is continually learning, growing, and developing the best ways to serve our students, teachers, and staff. I am deeply honored to join the Leadership TASB Class of 2027 and look forward to bringing those insights back to New Braunfels ISD.”

Leadership TASB is the premier trustee leadership training program in Texas. Established in 1993, the program provides advanced training designed to cultivate visionary leadership, strengthen governance knowledge and build meaningful statewide connections among school board members.

Renaud is one of only 26 school board trustees from districts across Texas selected for the Leadership TASB Class of 2027. Participants are chosen based on their dedication to serving students and communities through effective board leadership.

“We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Renaud for being selected to Leadership TASB,” said NBISD Superintendent Dr. Laurelyn Arterbury. “Serving on a school board is one of the most important leadership roles in public education, and selection into this program provides trustees with the opportunity to grow as leaders. I am excited to see the knowledge, relationships and experiences Mrs. Renaud will gain through Leadership TASB and bring back to help strengthen NBISD and the work we do on behalf of our students and staff.”

The Leadership TASB program consists of five intensive training sessions held throughout the year. Full attendance and active engagement are required of all participants, reflecting the program’s expectations.

The first Leadership TASB session will be held in Houston during txEDCON26 and will begin in October. Through Leadership TASB, trustees gain valuable leadership skills, deepen their understanding of effective governance practices and develop statewide professional networks that strengthen public education across Texas.
