Enrollment OPENS for the 26-27 School year ON APRIL 1st!

Enrollment is open for students that turn 4 years old by September 1st and reside in New Braunfels ISD.

NBISD is dedicated to providing each child with a high-quality Pre-K experience to develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Our Pre-K program embraces the philosophy that children learn best through play, hands-on experiences and interactions with people, materials, events, and ideas. Children will be provided opportunities to create, experiment and problem-solve. NBISD partners with Head Start to provide a comprehensive Pre-K program for approximately 300 four-year olds.

Register in ASCENDER PARENT PORTAL

We encourage you to begin the registration process online via the Ascender Parent Portal. If you already have an Ascender Parent Portal account, login using your information. If you do not have an account, you can create a new account. Simply login and complete the 6 steps under the “Enroll a New Student” section to register your students.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

After you’ve begun the registration process online, please contact Lone Star ECC for an appointment to verify your documents.

Parent Identification (TX Driver License, ID, or Passport)

Government-issued Birth Certificate of Child (Kindergarteners must be age 5 as of September 1, 2026/Pre-Kindergarteners must be 4 as of September 1, 2026)

Immunization Record (must be up-to-date)

Proof of Residency (Dated no later than 30 days: current utility or gas bill, lease agreement, or mortgage statement)

Two-Way Dual Language (DL) Program

Enrollment is open all year for students that turn 4 years old by September 1st and reside in New Braunfels ISD.

To meet eligibility for Pre-Kindergarten at no cost, a student must qualify for at least ONE (1) of the following criteria:

  • is unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or
  • is economically disadvantaged, which means a student eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program; or
  • is homeless, as defined by 42 United States Code (U.S.C.) Section 1143a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child’s guardian or other person having lawful control of the child; or
  • is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or
  • is the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
  • is in, or have been in, the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201, Family Code; or
  • is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer (3106.002), firefighter (3106.003), or emergency medical first responder (3106.004).

There is not a tuition cost for those that qualify for Pre-K under State Pre-K guidelines.

Tuition spots are available in the 4-year-old program for students that reside in NBISD, but do not meet the eligibility criteria. The cost to enroll includes a $150 deposit per child (applicable to 1st-month tuition) and $650 monthly tuition per child. NBISD Employee rate is $550/month per child with payroll deduction.

Please note: Beginning August, 2025, monthly tuition costs for the 25-26 school year will increase to $650 per child (non-employee) and $550 (employee rate).

NBISD staff will be on-site during the fair to assist parents in completing the enrollment process.

Students are eligible to ride the school bus to and from their home zoned elementary campus to Lone Star.  Some students are eligible to ride to their home stop from that elementary campus, while others will need to be picked up at the elementary campus by car or parent walk up.
