New Braunfels ISD proudly hosted the first annual NB Film Festival on Sunday, May 3rd, at the historic Brauntex Theatre, bringing together student filmmakers, families, staff, and community members to celebrate storytelling and creativity.

The NB Film Festival, presented by NBISD, showcased student-produced films highlighting the  hard work of students across the district. Attendees viewed original films spanning multiple genres, from documentaries and short narratives to creative projects from students of all ages. Forty films were submitted by students this year.

“This festival is a celebration of our students’ creativity,” said Dr. Marty Lenard, NBISD Director of Fine Arts. “It’s inspiring to see all of their ideas come to life and to be able to watch them on the big screen and to experience the support from our community.”

Best Elementary Animation

Best Elementary Documentary

• Charlotte’s Web – The Documentary — Voss Farms Elementary (Winner) — 4th Grade GT

Best Elementary Film

• The Way of the Cookie — Voss Farms Elementary (Winner) — Corbin McCrocklin

Best High School Documentary

• Behind the Scenes of a NBHS Production (Winner)

Best High School Animation

• Heartbreak (Winner) — Emily Medina

Best High School Film

• Nowhere Man (Winner) — Lucas Hill

The NB Film Festival reflects NBISD’s ongoing commitment to providing engaging, real-world learning experiences and opportunities for students to explore their passions.
