On Tuesday, September 24, a New Braunfels High School student was arrested after investigation for allegedly making terroristic threats against the high school at the Homecoming dance. This type of threat is considered a felony and the consequences can be heavy. Felony terroristic threats can be punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

New Braunfels ISD would like to remind students and guardians that there is a zero tolerance policy for anyone who makes threats against our schools.

At NBISD, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and school community is our top priority. We want to remind our community that we take all threats to our schools—whether verbal, written, or electronic—very seriously.

As a reminder, any threat, even if made in jest, is treated with the utmost seriousness and will result in swift action, including potential legal consequences. NBISD works closely with local law enforcement. Students who make terroristic threats against the school will face both disciplinary action and possible prosecution.

Please take this opportunity to talk with your child about the gravity of making or sharing any type of threat. As a community, it is our shared responsibility to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment for everyone.
