Food, snacks, entertainment and more from all around the community will be on display and there will be something for everyone to sample at this year’s Taste of the Town.
The event’s theme this year is More Than Myth, and it will be held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the New Braunfels Civic Convention Center (375 S. Castell St.) on Feb. 5. Ticket holders will wine and dine with proceeds going toward the New Braunfels ISD Education Foundation.
Music will be performed by the New Braunfels band as well as NBHS and LCHS drumlines and choir. There will be a raffle and silent auction.
The NBISD Education Foundation has been working to provide grants to improve the learning environment for students and teachers within NBISD.
“At the heart of our work is inspiring learning, enriching teaching, and enhancing opportunities for NBISD teachers and students,” said Reagan Parks, the foundation’s executive director.
Taste of the Town serves as the foundation’s largest fundraiser each year. Funds raised from the event go toward educational grants that are awarded to educators seeking to aid literacy and help extracurricular programs purchase equipment. Some of the funds are used to buy instruments or pay for students to go on field trips.
“Our goal is to continually enhance the learning experience for our students every year,” Parks said.
The foundation also provides NBISD teachers who are new to the profession a grant to purchase items for their classrooms.
Parks and the Education Foundation would like to thank all of the event’s sponsors, especially Diamond Sponsors Joeris General Contractors and McKenna. Additionally, they would like to thank the Taste of Town Gold Sponsors: Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, MVBA Attorneys at Law, Weisman Equipment, Colorado Materials, Fischer’s Neighborhood Market, Midtex Oil, L.P., Rob and Teresa Johnson, LPA Design Studios Michael and Bette Spain, Stantec, and the Veramendi Charitable Foundation.
About 40 area restaurants will be on hand for the event, serving up tasty samples of their best menu items. Those who attend will get to go around the room and sample bite-size tastes of each participant and restaurant that attend, while raising money for a great cause.
This event would not be possible without the donation of time and tastes from: Chicken Salad Chick, Cravings, Emerald Whisk, Krause’s, Las Fontanas Mexican Kitchen, Mi Frijoles Taco Cart and BBQ Catering, On the Grind, Montana Mike’s Steakhouse, New Braunfels Smokehouse, Popbelly’s Popcorn, Rosie Lynn’s Ice Cream and Lattes, Rudy’s Country Store, sMac’n Noodles, Tamale Joe, Barbarossa Trough: A Public House, Butcher Boy Taco House, Dive In Donuts, Freddy C’s Bar & Patio, Freiheit Country Store, Honey Baked Ham, Le Petit Sweet Candy Shop, Mighty Oak BBQ, Nothing Bundt Cakes, PF Chang’s, Rita’s Italian Ice & Custard, River City Catering, Tipsy Cow Ice Cream, Villa Pasta, Dry Comal Creek Vineyards,

The New Braunfels ISD Education Foundation was created in 1999 to provide additional funds to the district. We have been fortunate to provide grants to teachers and classrooms of the NBISD nearly $1 million since 2001 through fundraising events such as Taste of the Town.
