New Braunfels ISD officially opened the doors to Legend Point Elementary, one of its newest elementary schools on Thursday, August 7th. The ribbon-cutting event brought together students, staff, families, and community members to tour the new campus, capture photos, and take part in the ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Legend Point Elementary was made possible through the community’s approval of the 2018 Bond Program and will serve kindergarten through fifth-grade students in a modern, state-of-the-art facility.

Speakers at the celebration included Principal Amy Malone, NBISD Superintendent Dr. Laurelyn Arterbury, and NBISD Board President Eric Bergquist.

“I am excited for this opportunity to lead this wonderful new campus where we will educate our kindergarten through fifth grade students in this state-of-the-art building,” Malone said.

Dr. Arterbury emphasized the school’s mission and mascot in her remarks, sharing, “Just as a Dragon is a symbol of strength, courage, and resilience, we want every student to embody these qualities. Here, we believe that every student has limitless potential and we will provide opportunities for students to explore, problem solve, and become leaders.”

Bergquist reflected on the significance of the day, saying, “What an exciting and meaningful day this is—not just for NBISD, but for every student and family who will call Legend Point Elementary their home.”

The ribbon cutting also recognized Guido Construction and Stantec Architects, whose work helped bring the campus to life. The two-story school is built for 750 students in grades K-5th grade.
