Each month, the NBISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Laurelyn Arterbury recognize achievements of exceptional students, staff and community members across the district. The May 12th board meeting highlighted a wide range of accomplishments from students involved in FFA, DECA, SkillsUSA Automotive, soccer, VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event), and the NBISD Ambassador program.

Future Farmers of America (FFA)
The NBHS FFA program under the guidance of Darryl Nowotny, Pablo Rodriguez and Kayla Hughes continues to thrive, and several students were recognized for their commitment and success in agricultural education and leadership:

The SkillsUSA Automotive students taught by Allen Dunne and Bryan Dycus were recognized for their technical skills and teamwork as they prepare for careers in the automotive industry:

Soccer 
Student-athletes from the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams were honored for their dedication and competitive spirit this season. Eric Norris leads the girls team, while Jose Torres Luna is the head coach of the boys team.

Two talented NBHS students earned top honors at the regional and state levels for their artwork under the leadership of Rebecca McDavitt:

Lauren Pszanowski received the prestigious Gold Seal Award, the highest honor in VASE.

Brooke Bagley was recognized as a State Finalist.

NBISD Ambassadors 
The NBISD Ambassador program recognizes district staff who go above and beyond in supporting students and community engagement. Honorees included:
