NBISD art teachers took center stage at the Texas Arts Educators Association (TAEA) conference in Galveston. On Friday, November 15th, a group of NBISD art teachers and Fine Arts Director Marty Lenard shared creative ideas and inspired teachers from all over Texas.

In recent years, NBISD has brought art teachers back to elementary level. These efforts helped NBISD earn the status as a TAEA District of Distinction. 

Over 1,200 districts and learning institutions in Texas were eligible to apply for this prestigious Texas Art Education Association Visual Art Award, but only 96 districts met the high standards and received this outstanding honor which indicates that a visual art program is in the top 5.5% of Visual Art programs in the state.
