New Braunfels ISD has named Robert Strever as the new Principal of Lone Star Early Childhood Center. Strever brings valuable experience to the role within NBISD, having served as Assistant Principal at Klein Road Elementary School since 2022.

“I am honored to lead Lone Star Early Childhood Center and excited for the opportunity to help lay a strong foundation that will shape our youngest learners’ future in NBISD,” Strever said. “Together, we will create a nurturing and inspiring environment that supports each child’s growth and success from the very start.”

Strever is a graduate of the 2023-2024 NBISD Leadership Academies Aspiring Principal Cohort. He will be succeeding Susan Peery, who announced her retirement earlier this year.

Prior to being Assistant Principal at Klein Road, Strever served as the academic dean at Koennecke Elementary, a dual-language campus in Seguin ISD. As an Academic Dean, he coached and mentored teachers, was a leader in effective professional learning community implementation and he was a curriculum writer for the district.

Before his time in Seguin, he was a teacher from 2009-2021 at Wiederstein Elementary School in Schertz Cibolo Universal City ISD. There he was a grade-level leader for three years, was on the district improvement committee for three years and completed the SCUCISD Aspiring Leadership Academy. He was also a founding member of the SCUCISD Academic Bowl and a core value leadership recipient.

Strever holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. He also holds several certifications including: Principal (EC-12), Teacher (EC-4), English as a Second Language (EC-4), Texas Teacher Evaluation Support System Appraiser, SAMA Certified and Standard Response Protocol Trainer.

“Mr. Strever has been a student-centered leader committed to excellence, and he will continue to do that with our youngest learners,” said NBISD Superintendent Dr. Laurelyn Arterbury. “We are excited to have him lead our team at Lone Star and look forward to the positive impact that he will bring.”

Strever is a resident of New Braunfels and is the proud father of two daughters, Claire (13) and Chloe (10).
