New Braunfels ISD has announced Joe Alexandre as its new Director of Planning and Construction, effective February 2nd. Alexandre brings more than 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, most recently serving as Hays CISD’s Director of Planning and Construction.

“I am honored to join NBISD, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve a district that has a strong emphasis on students, community, and long-term planning,” Alexandre said. “I look forward to working with district leadership to support high-quality learning environments that meet the needs of the district.”

Throughout his career, Alexandre has led major construction initiatives in education, retail and finance. Since 2023, he has overseen construction and planning at Hays CISD, including his work on the district’s 2025 Bond Program, which was a $900-plus million capital improvement project. Prior to that, he served as Project and Construction Manager of Capital Projects at Texas State University for 10 years, managing projects ranging between $20 million and $180 million.

“Joe’s background and proven leadership in managing large-scale projects make him a great fit for NBISD,” said Paul McLarty, NBISD’s Chief Business and Support Services Officer. “I’m excited to welcome him to the team and ready to get to work together to support our students.”

In addition to his professional experience, Alexandre has been involved in public service. He currently serves as Mayor Pro-Tem for the City of Bulverde and has also been a committee member for the City of Bulverde’s Planning and Zoning commission as chair, vice chair and commissioner.

Alexandre holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
