New Braunfels ISD would like to announce Billy Kidd as the new Director of Construction Services. With more than two decades of leadership experience in public education and in the private sector, Kidd brings a proven record in construction management, bond programs, and facilities oversight. He assumed his role Monday, December 2nd.

I look forward to working with an outstanding group of educators, to working with a great project team, and working in one of the prettiest areas in Texas,” he said. “I look forward to being part of a district that is providing great facilities for exceptional learning experiences for students, and this was the only place I could find that had an abundance of Unicorns and Dragons!”

Kidd’s extensive professional experience assures he will be a key addition to NBISD. He is an expert in construction management, bond planning, and budgeting. He is an experienced team leader, having managed departments with up to 75 employees. His exceptional communication skills include experience as a trainer, public speaker, and facilitator. Respected for his integrity, diligence, and accountability, he has built an outstanding reputation throughout his career.

Kidd comes to NBISD by way of Garland ISD, where he oversaw all stages of construction projects, from planning and design to completion. He managed the process of selecting architects and construction teams, provided regular bond updates to the Board of Trustees, and organized meetings with staff and departments across the district.

In his role as Director of Bond Planning and Construction at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, Kidd oversaw a $514 million bond program. He managed budgets, schedules, and education specifications, led bond planning committees, and provided monthly updates to the Board.

While serving as Director of Property Management and Grounds at Keller ISD, Kidd managed a $315 million bond program and spearheaded long-range planning initiatives. He supervised warranties, facility modifications, grounds maintenance, pest management, and the district’s liability and property insurance programs.

As Director of Planning and Facility Project Management at Keller ISD, he administered bond budgets totaling $179 million. He coordinated attendance boundary planning, facilitated safety and bond oversight committees, and oversaw daily district maintenance, grounds projects, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing operations.

Kidd also has experience in business and marketing as he previously worked for Coca Cola, Urelift Corporation and Birdville ISD. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston, and he holds a Secondary Teaching Certificate from the University of Houston, specializing in Business and Math.

Superintendent Dr. Laurrelyn Arterbury praised Kidd’s qualifications, stating, “Mr. Kidd’s extensive experience and leadership make him uniquely qualified to guide NBISD’s projects. We are confident in his ability to ensure the successful completion of our future projects.”

Kidd and his wife Sherri have two adult children, Sarah, a nurse in Seattle, and Bear, a project manager for a general contractor in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
