The New Braunfels High School football team upended Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (PSJAN) in the area round by a score of 35 to 32 on Friday, November 22nd in Corpus Christi. The Unicorns will now face a familiar foe in Smithson Valley at the Alamodome on Friday, November 29th. Kickoff between the two rivals is set for 11 am.

The win over PSJAN secured the area championship for the Unicorns and the team will now have a rematch with the Rangers. Smithson Valley won the first meeting 29-18 last month.

The Unicorns enter regionals with a 9-3 overall record this season while the Rangers are 10-2 record. Smithson Valley defeated Edinburg Vela in its area round game. The winner of the regional game will advance to the quarterfinals of the state football playoffs.

ALAMODOME CLEAR BAG POLICY

The Alamodome encourages guests not to bring bags; however, bags meeting the following specifications will be permitted, for most events:

Small bags and/or clutches – 5.5” x 8.5” or smaller

Clear Bags – (Plastic, vinyl, or PVC) 12” x 6” x 12”

1-Gallon Clear Freezer Bag – (Ziploc bag or similar) 12” x 12” or smaller

Exceptions: Diaper Bags – Bags being labeled a “diaper bag” must be paired with a guardian and child, upon entry and contain diaper-changing related items, such as diapers, wipes, childcare needs, etc. Diaper bags are not subject to the 12”x6”x12” sizing, but will be screened prior to entry.
