New Braunfels ISD proudly recognized Cristian Lopez Lopez and Caroline Peterson as the Senior Students of the Month at the Board of Trustees meeting on November 10th.
New Braunfels High School senior Cristian Lopez Lopez has been named one of NBISD’s Senior Students of the Month. The son of Fabiola and Jesus Lopez, Cristian has attended New Braunfels High School for all four years and has been a leader and involved in many student groups around campus.
Cristian has participated in a wide variety of activities including Cross Country, Band, Track, BPA, DECA, National Honor Society, Lions Club, Spanish Club, FFA, Blue Crew, Hope in an Envelope, and Stampede. His commitment to service extends beyond the classroom as he volunteers regularly at his church and contributes to community projects through the organizations he’s part of.
Following graduation, Cristian plans to attend Texas A&M University, where he will major in Business Management. His long-term goal is to become a business owner.
Fellow senior Caroline Peterson is the daughter of Kimberly and Josh Peterson. She also has spent all four years at NBHS, where she has excelled both in and out of the classroom.
A standout in business education, Caroline has been a four-year member of BPA and DECA, qualifying for state competitions the past three years in finance-related categories. She was also a three-year member of the NBHS swim team, serving as team captain during her junior year and qualifying for regionals in the 500 freestyle as a sophomore.
Caroline’s leadership is also evident in her role on the Student Council, where she serves as the Energy & Environment Committee Chair, and through her involvement as a Unicorn Handler. In addition, she is a proud member of the National Honor Society.
After graduation, Caroline plans to attend college on the East Coast to study Finance or Economics, with Duke University as her top choice. She aspires to pursue a career as an actuary or financial analyst, with long-term goals of becoming a CFO or quantitative analyst.
