It’s history in the making at Long Creek High School as Dragon swimmer Leilani Ancheta became the first athletics state qualifier in school history.

Ancheta, a freshman, secured state spots in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke after racing to second-place finishes in both events at the Region IV meet. Regionals were held on February 1st at Southwest ISD in San Antonio.

The UIL State Swimming and Diving Meet is scheduled for February 13th and 14th at the Josh Davis Natatorium located at North East ISD in San Antonio.
