Members of both the Dragon and Unicorn bands were in action at the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Competition recently.

The Dragon Wind Symphony made history, earning superior ratings at the  competition, which was the first time Long Creek High School has competed in this event. LCHS opened this year and currently has only Freshman and Sophomore students.

Joining them in the spotlight, the New Braunfels High School Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, and Wind Ensemble also delivered phenomenal performances at the UIL assessment. Each NBHS ensemble walked away with Superior Ratings in both Concert and Sight Reading.

All three NBHS ensembles earned first division ratings from all three judges in Sight Reading, while the Wind Ensemble impressed further by receiving first division ratings from all three judges in Concert as well.

From the inaugural season of the Dragons to the long-standing excellence of the Unicorns, the NBISD band programs are proving they are More than Myth.
