Long Creek High School’s Raelyn Gonzales has made history for the school’s Business Professionals of America (BPA), earning a spot as a National Alternate in the BPA National Competition. Competing in the Prepared Speech, Gonzales secured a place in the top nine in Texas at the recent State BPA competition held in Dallas.

The BPA National Leadership Conference is set to take place later this May in Orlando, Florida, where top students from across the country will compete. Gonzales was among a group of LCHS students who qualified at the state level. Other participants included:

• Dylan Brinkkoeter – Fundamentals of Accounting
• Erik Martinez – Medical Coding
• Grace Garza – Fundamentals of Word Processing
• Raelyn Gonzales – Prepared Speech

“I am incredibly proud of all our qualifiers,” said LCHS teacher Chasity Camera. “The students had a blast, worked hard, and are excited to try again next year!”
