New Braunfels ISD is proud to recognize Cesar Barragan and Chloe Kowall as the January 2026 Seniors of the Month from New Braunfels High School. The honorees were recognized during a regular meeting on January 12th, with a presentation made by New Braunfels High School Principal Greg Hughes.

The Seniors of the Month program celebrates students who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to their school and community.

Chloe Kowall has attended New Braunfels High School for four years. She is the daughter of River Kowall and Holly Kowall. During her time at NBHS, Chloe has been actively involved in National Honor Society (NHS), National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), SkillsUSA, and AP French IV, and she enjoys reading in her free time. Chloe plans to attend college to study business, with aspirations of attending Texas A&M University. After completing her undergraduate studies, she is considering law school or pursuing a career aligned with her business degree.

Cesar Barragan, the son of Esthela Cahenzli and Josh Cahenzli, has attended New Braunfels High School since 2023. Cesar is an accomplished and highly motivated student, currently taking five AP courses and self-studying two additional APs, totaling eight AP courses during his time at NBHS. An artist and animator, Cesar previously participated in Art & Animation and continues to pursue his passion. He has earned two certificates of recognition in art at the Ninth Grade Center, is a member of the Robotics Team, and he works at Chick-fil-A. Following graduation, Cesar plans to join the U.S. Army as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) specialist, then attend UTSA to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
