New Braunfels ISD has announced the hiring of Hope de Lemos as the new principal of Klein Road Elementary School. With more than two decades of experience in education, de Lemos has a strong passion for student success, campus leadership and community collaboration.

She will be joining KRE from Windcrest Elementary in San Antonio, which is part of the North East ISD. She has been the principal there since 2020. Prior to that, she served as an assistant principal at Montgomery Elementary School from 2016 to 2020 and at Windcrest from 2013 to 2016.

“I am filled with excitement and gratitude as I introduce myself as the new principal of Klein Road Elementary,” de Lemos said. “It is truly an honor to join this exceptional team and the welcoming community of New Braunfels.”

With more than 20 years in education, de Lemos has served as a classroom teacher and a campus administrator. Her leadership philosophy centers on collaboration and high expectations for all students.

“I believe in the power of public education to transform communities,” she added. “And I know that when we work together, we create learning environments where every student can thrive.”

Other previous positions that de Lemos include being an elementary classroom teacher at Walzem Elementary; the Director of Camping Operations at the Children’s Association for Maximum Potential; an English as a Second Language teacher in the Czech Republic; and as a Special Education Teacher (autistic unit) in Los Angeles. 

Outside of her professional life, de Lemos enjoys running, traveling, and advocating for animal rescue causes. She is also involved with CAMP, also known as the Children’s Association for Maximum Potential.

She and her husband, Frank, live in San Antonio, but are planning to relocate to New Braunfels in the near future.
