At the September 8th Board of Trustees meeting, New Braunfels High School Principal Greg Hughes introduced two seniors who are making the most of their time as Unicorns. Henry Holt and Chloe Abbott were recognized as the September Senior Students of the Month.
Henry Holt
Henry, son of Robert and Julia Holt, has been a Unicorn since his freshman year, and he has spent much of that time on the baseball field. A four-year member of the Unicorn Baseball team, Henry has earned three varsity letters, served as captain his junior year, and twice received Academic All-District honors.
Outside of baseball, he has been active in Student Council, FFA, National Honor Society, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Henry also gives back to the community through the Miracle League and even took part as a debutante escort for the Mid Texas Symphony.
Looking to the future, Henry hopes to attend either the University of Oklahoma or Texas Tech University to study finance. After college, he hopes to start his own sports and outdoors company.
Chloe Abbott
Chloe is the daughter of Jill Abbott and has also spent her high school years building an impressive resume. She’s been a key member of the NBHS yearbook staff, serving as social media manager, photography editor, and now editor-in-chief. She also supports the Boys Soccer team as manager and has one of the Unicorn Handlers.
Outside of school, Chloe works at Betty Lou Coffee Co., has completed prestigious journalism and media programs, and even runs her own photography business, capturing everything from senior portraits to sports. Her photos recently earned her first place in the Print Division of Photojournalism in the Greater New Braunfels Art Council Youth Photography Contest.
After graduation, Chloe plans to study journalism or media at LSU or UT Austin. Her goal is to continue building her photography and media skills in college and one day work for the NFL as part of their media staff.
