CREATE at County Line will open in August 2026 as New Braunfels ISD’s first future-ready learning elementary campus serving kinder – 2nd grade students. This innovative campus has been designed in close partnership with families and the community to provide students with a unique, multi-faceted learning environment that extends beyond the traditional classroom.

“Our community wanted us to design a learning experience where students could be the creators of knowledge rather than consumers of content and that is what CREATE is designed to do,” said NBISD Superintendent Dr. Laurelyn Arterbury. “We are going to take the state’s standards and put them together in a way that students will have unique learning experiences that prepare them to be future ready!”

As part of this announcement, NBISD has launched a new website dedicated to the program: nbisd.org/create. Families are encouraged to visit the site to learn more about CREATE, watch an overview video, and stay up to date as additional details are released.

Get Involved

• Interest Survey: Families who want to learn more can complete the online interest form on the CREATE website. Those who sign up will be among the first to receive updates and program details.
• Applications Open November 2025: All NBISD students who are interested in CREATE will need to complete an application to be considered for enrollment. Acceptance will be announced in January.

CREATE was developed through NBISD’s strategic planning process with valuable guidance from the district’s Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). District leaders explored innovative models across Texas, gathered community feedback, and designed a program centered on what families value most in education.
