A big congratulations goes out to New Braunfels Middle School sixth grader Eric Wiley, who was recently named the winner of the 20th Birthday T-shirt Design Competition hosted by the McKenna Children’s Museum.

Eric’s creative design was selected as the winning entry, out of over 300 submissions, Eric’s design rose to the top, earning him the honor of having his artwork featured on the official commemorative shirt celebrating the museum’s 20th anniversary. The exciting news didn’t come quietly — leadership from McKenna Children’s Museum surprised Eric and his classmates during a special visit on Tuesday, March 31st, at New Braunfels Middle School.

During the surprise, Eric was presented with shirts showcasing his winning design, and his entire class received shirts as well, turning the moment into a celebration for everyone. The unexpected announcement brought cheers, smiles, and plenty of excitement as classmates congratulated Eric on his accomplishment.

The competition invited students to create a design that captured the spirit and creativity of the museum’s milestone birthday. Eric’s winning artwork stood out for its originality and ability to represent the fun and educational experiences the museum has provided the community for the past two decades.
