Saul Rubio, a track and field athlete at Long Creek High School, has qualified for the UIL Regional Meet following an impressive 3rd place finish at the Area meet in Wimberley. His performance not only earned him a spot at regionals but also placed him on the cusp of making school history as the first track athlete from Long Creek to qualify for the state meet.

The regional competition will take place April 18–19 in Kingsville, where Rubio will represent the Dragons in the 800m race. Should Rubio qualify, the state meet will be held May 3rd at the University of Texas at Austin.
