New Braunfels ISD officially opened the doors to CREATE at County Line, the district’s first future-ready learning campus, during a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony that was held on Thursday, August 13th.

CREATE at County Line Principal April Jones welcomed families, staff, district leaders and community members to the celebration, and she said that the opening was the beginning of an exciting new chapter for learning in NBISD.

Formerly County Line Elementary, the campus has been transformed into a new learning environment designed to encourage creativity, innovation and student-driven learning for kindergarten to second grad. CREATE represents six core values: Curiosity, Resilience, Entrepreneurship, Artistry, Teamwork and Empowerment.

“Our mission is to provide an engaging and creative learning environment where every student is inspired to grow,” Jones said. “We believe every student has limitless potential.”

Superintendent Dr. Laurelyn Arterbury said the opening represents an important milestone for NBISD and reflects the district’s commitment to preparing students for the future.

“CREATE was established to spark our students’ curiosity, to inspire learning and to be excited to come to school every single day,” Arterbury said. “We are so incredibly proud of what this campus means to the NBISD community, and we are even more excited about what it will become once the teachers, staff and students bring CREATE to life.”

Board President Nancy York, speaking on behalf of the NBISD Board of Trustees, highlighted the collaboration among district staff, families, community partners and leaders that helped bring the vision for CREATE to reality.

The celebration concluded with a ceremonial ribbon cutting outside the school, followed by an opportunity for students and families to meet their teachers and explore the campus.

As NBISD continues Future Focused 2030, a five-year strategic plan, CREATE at County Line represents a new approach to learning focused on developing students’ creativity, collaboration, problem-solving skills and confidence as they prepare for the opportunities of tomorrow.
