The New Braunfels ISD Board of Trustees recognized two outstanding students as Seniors of the Month during its meeting on March 16th.

The students were announced by New Braunfels High School Principal Greg Hughes, who highlighted their dedication and impact on campus and in the community.

Karson Neuse

Karson Neuse has spent all four years of his high school career as a student at NBHS.

During this time, Karson has been actively involved in livestock showing through 4-H and FFA, while also taking part in agricultural mechanics projects including building a trailer and working on a tractor. He has contributed to NBFFA Ag Advocacy efforts and participated in livestock judging. 

In addition, Karson has given back by hosting showmanship clinics for surrounding FFA schools, demonstrating leadership and a passion for mentoring others.

Following graduation, Karson plans to attend Blinn College in Brenham to study animal science and compete at the collegiate level in livestock judging. After completing his time at Blinn, he is considering continuing his education at Texas Tech University.

Aimee Cortes

Aimee Cortes has also made a lasting impact during her time at New Braunfels High School through her involvement in extracurricular activities and student leadership.

Throughout high school, Aimee has participated in a wide range of organizations including HOSA, Spanish Club, Leo’s Club, Green Team, and Art Club. However, it is her involvement in FFA that has most shaped her high school experience. Through FFA, she competed on the wildlife and range teams—advancing to the state level—as well as in agricultural communications. She also served as a chair member for the FFA Week committee and was elected Secretary of the chapter.

She was also inducted into the National Honor Society and selected to serve on the Superintendent’s Advisory Council.

After graduation, Aimee plans to attend Texas Tech University, where she will pursue a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.
