New Braunfels High School Class of 2025 graduate Katie Best was recently honored with the Exceptional Senior Award (ESA), a prestigious recognition presented by U.S. Representative Chip Roy (TX-21).

Best was one of only thirty-six students across Texas’ 21st Congressional District to receive this year’s ESA award.

Now in its sixth year, the ESA recognizes high school students who demonstrate outstanding character, leadership, integrity and diligence. These qualities are reflected in their academic achievements, community involvement, and the include the respect that they’ve earned from their peers and educators.

“I am proud of all that the incredible young men and women of Texas’ 21st Congressional District have achieved,” said Congressman Roy. “Texans have reason to be optimistic about our great state’s destiny with them as our future leaders.”

Representative Roy extended his gratitude to the families and educators who have supported these students throughout their academic journeys and helped nominate them for this honor.

Katie will be attending Dallas Baptist University in the fall and plans to major in intercultural studies and Business Marketing. She is the daughter of Laura and Brandon Best.
