New Braunfels ISD is looking forward to welcoming all students back to a great 2025-26 school year! Here are a few reminders and some important information that will help ensure this school year is a success:
🍎 Meet the Teacher August 14th
We will welcome all parents to our elementary schools and Lone Star Early Childhood Center on Thursday, August 14th for Meet the Teacher.
Look for more details and specific times on Meet-the-Teacher from your campus.
Meet the Teacher is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher in person, tour the classroom and the school. You can drop off your child’s school supplies too!
💊 Medication
As of August 2024, ALL medications, over-the-counter and prescription medications, will require a doctor’s order. A prescription label will not suffice as a doctor’s order.
NBISD, in partnership with our Medical Director Physician, has updated our standing medical delegation orders to include some over-the-counter medications. The following over-the-counter medications may be administered by a school nurse without an additional prescription from student’s physician:
- Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Naproxen Sodium, Midol, Dextromethorphan, Guaifenesin, Calcium Carbonate (Tums), Diphenhydramine Cream, Hydrocortisone Cream, throat lozenge.
- The medications must be provided by the parent, in the original container with the parent’s written request.
- OTC medications to be given longer than 5 consecutive days must be prescribed per the student’s physician.
All other medications (over-the-counter and prescription) REQUIRE a doctor’s order to be administered by a nurse at school.
If you have questions regarding this update or your child’s medications, please contact your school nurse.
🚌 Register for the Bus
All students that require bus transportation to or from school for the 25-26 school year MUST submit an online registration form to the NBISD Transportation Department.
Please register your student for bus transportation by August 16th to secure bus transportation for the first day of school. After the first day of school, you may register for bus transportation at any time by contacting the Transportation Department.
⏰ Know Your Campus’ Start/Release Times
Be sure to take a look at your campus’ start and release times. Please plan for plenty of time to get your child dropped off on time for the first few days of school.

As the first day of school quickly approaches, familiarize yourself with the areas designated for student drop off and pick up. While the drop off and pick up process can be frustrating the first couple of days, we ask that you exercise patience and kindness.
Your campus will send out more information regarding student drop off and pick up locations.
👕 Review Dress Code, Student Handbook, and Student Code of Conduct
Please also review the district Dress Code, Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct. These documents can all be viewed here. It’s important to review these documents and ensure that your children know the expectations they are expected to follow.

🛝 Pre-K aged child? There is Still Time to Register
If you have a Pre-K aged child, we offer early childhood education at Lone Star Early Childhood Center.
New Braunfels ISD children, who will be 4 years old on or before September 1st, AND meet state and federal pre-kindergarten eligibility requirements may register for Pre-K free of charge. For more information on eligibility requirements visit our website.
You can register your child for Pre-K in two easy steps! First complete the registration process online through the Ascender Parent Portal and then call LSECC to make an appointment to complete the registration process.
