Students from New Braunfels High School for their outstanding achievements in fine arts at the NBISD Board of Trustees meeting on March 10th. Among those honored were standout guitarist Logan Bachman and choir singer Thomas Pickett.

Bachman earned 1st chair for guitar in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Jazz Ensemble.

Beginning each fall, more than 70,000 high school students across the state audition in their TMEA Region. Individuals perform selected music for a panel of judges who rank each instrument or voice part. Out of the thousands of students who auditioned, Bachman was selected as the top in the state.

Pickett, a junior member of the NBHS Choir was recognized for earning a spot in the Texas Music Educators (TMEA) All-State Choir. was chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at District, Region, and Area levels.

Students selected to perform in All-State concerts have competed through auditions to qualify at state. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can achieve. Students are selected through a multi-level adjudication process that begins with about 70,000 students from around the state vying for this honor to perform in one of 18 ensembles.
