New Braunfels High School animation student Lauren Pszanowski submitted her Traditional Animation to the UIL Young Filmmakers Festival 2025. Her creative work of her animated video named Whiskers in the Void impressed the judges and she has advanced to the State Semi-Finals.

This competition celebrates the talents of young filmmakers across Texas, and it is a highly competitive platform for students to showcase their creativity, storytelling, and technical skills. Lauren created her animated video using the platform Toonsquid while editing in Capcut.

The finalists for the 5A UIL category are yet to be determined. The UIL State Film Festival, which will be held on February 27 at Hogg Auditorium on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. This event will feature a combined showcase of Conference 5A and 6A student films.
