On Wednesday, September 30th, the New Braunfels ISD Ambassadors gathered at Long Creek High School for an engaging, hands-on session focused on: What does classroom instruction look like in NBISD?

The visit kicked off with a dive into the district’s Curriculum Department. Ambassadors explored how learning is structured across campuses, getting an overview of key programs, including core instruction, Special Education, Career and Technical Education (CTE), Multilingual Programs, and Fine Arts. District leaders shared how each area works together to support the unique needs, interests, and potential of every NBISD student.

Following the presentation, Ambassadors toured classrooms across Long Creek High School to see these programs live. They observed students engaging in diverse, hands-on learning experiences, visiting classes ranging from Culinary Arts to Floral Design and beyond. The classroom visits provided a vivid look at how specialized curriculum translates into practical, real-world skills for students.

The Ambassador Program offers participants a unique opportunity to dive into the inner workings of NBISD, gaining firsthand insight into what it takes to operate a thriving school district. Throughout the program, Ambassadors interact with district leaders, explore NBISD’s mission and values, and discover how every department supports students, staff, and the broader community.

The Ambassadors will continue visiting campuses throughout the year before they are recognized and graduate from the program at the May 10th Board of Trustees meeting.
