More than 20 New Braunfels Unicorn Track and Field athletes advanced into the area meet after having strong performances at the district championships.

District was held April 2nd and 3rd at Judson ISD and the Unicorns competed in Class 5A District 26. Among the athletes advancing to the area round is Alaina Fugate who highlighted the day for the Unicorns as the sole first-place finisher. Fugate competed in the long jump and won the event with a jump of 18-1.

The area meet will be held on April 9th at New Braunfels Canyon High School. Field events are slated to begin at 9am. A complete schedule of the area meet can be found here. Tickets to the area meet can be purchased here.

Those who make it past the area meet will then compete at regionals on April 18th and 19th at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio. The state meet is scheduled for May 3rd at the University of Texas at Austin.
