The NB Film Festival,

hosted at the historic Brauntex Theater, is being presented by New Braunfels ISD on May 16th, 2027. NBISD is inviting students to participate and looking for film submissions from students across NBISD as we celebrate their hard work.

The NB Film Festival is accepting documentaries and movies along with animation shorts of any length. Students from NBISD elementary school, middle school or high school can submit a film for consideration.

Film and Animation Entry Rules:

The NB Film Festival is accepting documentaries and movies along with animation shorts of any length. Students from NBISD elementary school, middle school or high school can submit a film for consideration.

1. Submissions must be in digital format or a downloadable link.

2. You must include your physical address with your entry and NBISD school attending.

3. Submissions must be original work of the applicants. “Applicants” can either be an individual student or a group of students from a campus. Applicants must secure all legal rights for individuals in the film and state if the film is based on true events or source material.

4. Applicants are responsible for all third party material including film photos, music, logos, trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property.

5. The use of AI is not allowed in the production of the films in accordance with UIL standards.

6. Films submitted from elementary students should be between 90 seconds and 7 minutes.

7. Films submitted from secondary students should be between 3:00 minutes and 10 minutes.

Selected Entries

Films selected for the NB Film Festival will be featured at the Brauntex Theatre on May 16th, 2027. There will be awards given out to selected films at the end of the event to recognize outstanding films from elementary schools, secondary schools and featured categories.

Complete the official NB Film Festival Submission Form (available on campus and online beginning February 1, 2027) and upload your film through the NBISD secure upload portal or provide a downloadable link (Google Drive, Dropbox, or Vimeo with password access).

The window to submit films will be between February 1st, 2027 and closing on April 1st, 2027 at 5:00 pm. More information about submitting films and applications will be released to campuses in January 2027.
