NBISD 2018 Bond
The 2018 Bond Program was approved by voters on November 6, 2018. All of the projects were included in one proposition. The total bond was $118,341,000.
New Braunfels Middle School
The “New” New Braunfels Middle School opened in August 2021. It is home to nearly 1,500 students in grades 6th-8th grade. The boundary of the school encompasses all areas east of IH-35. This school will be the middle school feeder for the future Long Creek High School opening in August 2024. Click here to view a gallery of the construction of the campus.

Legend Point Elementary
Project Status: Complete
The construction of the future Legend Point Elementary, located at 4365 Klein Meadows, is now complete. It was being built to provide relief for the future capacity concerns for both Klein Road and Voss Farms Elementary. The two-story school was built for 750 students in grades K-5th grade.

Heavy Truck Traffic Notice for Aug. 5, 2024
On Aug. 5th, we are expecting a large delivery of equipment along with a crane. This will cause heavy truck traffic on Klein Meadows most of the day. We apologize for the inconvenience and will work to make the installation happen as quickly and safely as possible. Road work to add a deceleration lane for the future Legend Point Elementary School will begin on February 27 and cause short-term lane closure on a small section of Klein Meadows from Legend Pond just past Legend Run. The closure will be in effect 24 hours a day and is estimated to last 30 days.
What you need to know:
- Estimated 30-day project
- Only one lane will be closed
- The lane closure is 24 hours a day
- Use caution when driving through this area

Road Closure Notification for January 2024

Utility work for the future Legend Point Elementary School will begin next week and cause short-term lane closures on a small section of Klein Meadows from Legend Run to Legend Pond.
What you need to know:
– Equipment will be installed on January 17
– 1-2 week project with closures
– Only one lane will be closed at a time
– The lane closure is only during the daytime
– Each night, lanes will reopen
– Road plates will be installed to drive over
– Use caution when driving through this area
Concrete Pour Variance Notification

Starting the week of January 8, 2024, the construction crews will begin the next phase of concrete pours on the site. The concrete pours are expected to begin as early as 1 a.m. A series of concrete pours will be required to expand the school’s footprint. The contractor has established procedures to reduce any disturbances to you and your neighbors during this process.

On Friday, December 22, 2023, at approximately 4 a.m. the construction crews will begin pouring another section of concrete at Legend Point Elementary School. This means when you go to sleep tonight, the crew will be working during the early morning hours to complete the work. Concrete Video Update for November 2023
Legend Point Elementary is beginning to take shape at the ground level with sections of the concrete slab being poured over the next month. The school is located in the Legend Point subdivision on the east side of New Braunfels ISD.

Phase 3 Scope of Work (Summer 2023)
County Line Elementary, Memorial Elementary and Walnut Springs Elementary will receive the following upgrades in the corridors: paint, flooring, wall tile, wall base, ceiling, and lighting. The gymnasium also receive new flooring and wall finish. The cafeteria will receive new paint, flooring, wall base and ceiling.
Lamar Elementary will receive the following upgrades in the classrooms: paint, floorring, wall base and countertops. The teacher’s lounge will receive new paint, flooring and wall base.
Oak Run Middle School will receive new paint, flooring and wall base in the music room.
Lone Star Early Childhood Center will received the following upgrades in the classrooms: paint and wall base. The administration wing will received new paint, flooring, wall base, ceilings, lighting, and countertops.
Phase 2 Scope of Work (Completed Dec. 2022)
County Line Elementary, Memorial Elementary and Walnut Springs Elementary received the following upgrades in the administration wing: paint, flooring, wall base, ceiling, lighting, and countertops. The gymnasium also received new paint and lighting.
Phase 1 Scope of Work (Completed Summer 2022)
County Line Elementary, Memorial Elementary and Walnut Springs Elementary received the following upgrades in the classrooms: paint, flooring, wall base, ceiling, lighting, countertops, blinds, markerboards, mechanical/plumbing. The library also received new paint, flooring, wall base, ceiling and countertops.
Lone Star Early Childhood Center received the following upgrades in the classrooms: paint and wall base. The teacher’s lounge also received new paint, wall base, plumbing and countertops.
Exterior Upgrades (Complete)

Memorial Elementary, Walnut Springs Elementary, Lone Star Early Childhood Center, Lamar Elementary – The parking areas were seal coated and restriped.
County Line Elementary– The parking areas were seal coated and restriped and a retaining wall was built behind the school.
Oak Run Middle School – The school received updates to the physical plant, new flooring in select areas, and had sections of the roofing replaced.
Transportation Department – The parking lot was expanded and the current lot was seal coated and restriped.
Other Renovations (Complete)
The former NBHS Ninth Grade Center on Guenther (build in 1952) was demolished in 2021. The Ninth Grade Center was relocated to the property on Klein Meadows (formerly New Braunfels Middle School) and will become the future Long Creek High School in 2024.
Veramendi Elementary Expansion (Complete)
Veramendi Elementary received an 8-classroom expansion that was completed in August 2020. Two classrooms were added to four of the existing classroom wings. The campus remained open and operational during the construction phase.
