The Leadership Academy is designed to provide leadership development and readiness skills to NBISD staff members who aspire to hold future leadership positions. In NBISD, we believe that it is our collective responsibility to identify and grow the next generation of campus and district leaders. We are excited to announce the expansion of the NBISD Leadership Academy. The purpose of the academy is to grow strong leaders in our district through leadership development, rigorous learning experiences, and the application of leadership skills. This academy will prepare current teacher leaders to take on leadership positions on their campus, including grade/department chair, aspiring assistant principals, and curriculum department specialists and coordinators.

This academy will require your commitment to learning over the course of one year. We are currently exploring a model that provides learning through monthly meetings from 4:45–7:45 PM on the first Wednesday of each month, starting in October, with a short kick-off meet-and-greet in September.

Academy Requirements:
Applicants must have a strong desire to take on leadership responsibilities

• Must exemplify NBISD’s Mission, Vision, and Core Beliefs
• A minimum of two years’ experience as a teacher, with at least one year in NBISD
• A completed application submitted by August 30, 2026 at 6:00 pm, that includes the following uploads within the Google form: 1) Video, 2) Current resume
• Must be able to commit to mandatory class meeting dates and times and make arrangements for absences on campus while attending academy sessions
• For applicants interested in an administration pathway: hold or be pursuing a master’s degree with valid administrator certification, or be currently enrolled in a program
