Vendor Requirements

New Braunfels Independent School District is required to post all Conflict of Interest Questionnaire (CIQ) forms on its website. This must be filed when a vendor is doing business with, or seeking to do business with the District, and;

    • Has an employment or business relationship with an officer of the District or a family member of the officer, or;
    • Has given an officer of the District, or a family member of the officer, one or more gifts with the aggregate value specified in §176.003, excluding any gift described in the same section, or;
    • Has a family relationship with an officer of the District.

Statements must be filed within 7 business days after the vendor becomes aware that a conflict of interest exists.

Vendors are reminded that this form is only required to be submitted if an actual conflict exists.

District personnel are not able to provide legal advice to vendors on this or any other legal matter.

Local Government Officer Requirements

New Braunfels Independent School District is also required to post Conflicts Disclosure Statements (CIS) received from a “local government officer” of the District (defined in Sec. 176.003). A local government officer shall file this required form, as adopted by the Texas Ethics Commission, with respect to an applicable vendor if the vendor enters into a contract with the District or the District is considering entering into a contract with the vendor; and the vendor:

Has an employment or other business relationship with the local government officer or a family member of the officer that results in the officer or family member receiving taxable income, other than investment income, that exceeds $2,500 during the 12-month period preceding the date that the officer becomes aware that a contract has been executed, or the District is considering entering into a contract with the person; or
Has given to the local government officer or a family member of the officer one or more gifts that have an aggregate value of more than $100 in the 12-month period preceding the date the officer becomes aware that such a contract has been executed or the District is considering entering into a contract with the vendor; or
Has a family relationship with the local government officer.

Statements must be filed within 7 business days after the officer becomes aware a conflict of interest exists.

Facility Rentals

The New Braunfels Independent School District provides cafeteria and gym space for community use after 6:30p.m. on days when school is in session. Current Board Policy GKD shall govern all non-school use of facilities. We are in partnership with the City of New Braunfels for the use of the middle school fields and they have exclusive use of them for youth sports when not in use by NBISD. The City does sublease the fields to outside groups, if availability allows. Please contact The City of New Braunfels Parks & Recreation Department for more information.

Rental Requests must be emailed to Brenda Garrett. Requests are processed in the order they are received.

NOTE: Please do not contact local schools or district employees requesting available dates/times.

Facility Rentals Icon

The following are required to be on file at the NBISD prior to facility use:

  • A refundable deposit of $500.00 if wireless mic is requested.
  • The organization liability insurance coverage of at least $500,000.
  • A Facility Use Agreement listing the rental details, date(s) and location.  This form will be emailed to the user after the facility and staff availability are verified by the District designee.
  • The organization’s 501c3, if non-profit.
  • Upon receipt of the emailed Rental Request, you will receive an email confirmation and we will begin processing your request.  It may take up to fifteen (15) days to process the request.  Once availability has been confirmed, a Facility Use Agreement and Invoice will be created.  The signed Agreement, COI, rental fee, and refundable deposit (if applicable) must be in the district’s possession at least ten (10) business days prior to the rental.
  • No NBISD facilities are available for rent when the district is closed.
  • Contracts and insurance must be on file with Facility Rentals office prior to use of NBISD facilities.
  • Requests for facilities will be granted depending on availability.

Financial Transparency

New Braunfels ISD’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.
