We are deeply committed to ensuring each student receives a high-quality, inclusive educational experience—one that balances strong academics, character-building, and leadership opportunities.

We have taken intentional steps to create a warm, supportive environment where every military-connected student feels seen, celebrated, and supported.

What We Do to Support Military-Connected Students and Families

Designated Military Liaison
Our counselor, Kalisha Wenzel, serves as our campus-based military liaison, supporting the needs of military-connected students and families, and leading efforts that foster smooth transitions.

Staff Training and Awareness
We provide professional development opportunities to help staff better understand the unique needs of military-connected students and the transitions they experience.

Web-Based Resources
Our CLE website features helpful resources for military families, including enrollment information, counseling supports, and transition tools.

Student Ambassador Program
Our trained Student Ambassadors—mentored directly by our assistant principal—welcome and assist all new students, including those from military families. These student leaders provide guided tours, introductions to staff, and help new Dragons settle into their classrooms and routines.

Campus Transition Program
Through our transition plan, new students and their families receive:
– A warm welcome to County Line
– A peer-led tour of the building
– An overview of daily schedules, expectations, and extracurriculars
– Ongoing support from assigned Student Ambassadors

Celebrating Military Families
County Line participates in the Month of the Military Child, hosting campus events that highlight and honor the sacrifices and resilience of our military-connected students and families

Campus-Based Military Liaisons serve as the primary point of contact for military-connected students and their families throughout the enrollment and exit process. They are responsible for ensuring a smooth transition as well as providing access to support and resources throughout the student’s stay in NBISD.
