Randy Moczygemba, NBISD Superintendent

Biography

Randy Moczygemba is a visionary leader with humble beginnings. The first in his family to go to college, he never imagined he would become the superintendent of a school district with more than 8,000 students and 1,000 employees. Now in his 9th year with NBISD and 7th year as superintendent, Moczygemba instills his passion to provide an equitable education for all students in every decision he makes. Thanks to two teachers in high school that inspired him to pursue a college education, Moczygemba is here, more than 30 years later, fulfilling his mission in life - to make an impact in the lives of as many kids as he can. Under his leadership at NBISD, he has made great strides in improving the NBISD culture and school climate. He works collaboratively with the district’s stakeholders to develop and implement policies and practices that have made NBISD one of the most efficient and highest-performing districts in the state. Whether he is presenting at a Rotary Club meeting or fielding questions at a campus “Muffins for Moms” event, it is evident that he genuinely wants to connect with the community and engage them in the advancement of NBISD.

He and his wife, Stephanie, reside in New Braunfels. They have two grown daughters that are both educators, two sons-in-law and have a total of six grandchildren.
