2017-2018 NBHS Students of the Month
Outstanding students from New Braunfels High School are honored as the Students of the Month and recognized at the monthly board meeting.
Bridget Martin has attended NBHS all four years of her high school career. She has been a member of the NBHS FFA and is currently the president after serving two years as secretary. She is a two-year member of the NBHS National Honor Society and NBHS Math Club, a one-year member of NBHS Key Club and a NBHS Unicorn Handler. She has been an eight-year member of 4-H, holding a wide range of officer positions in many clubs, serving five-years on the 4-H Horse Quiz Bowl and Hippology team, and six years on the Veterinary Science team. She is also a three-year Texas Equine Ambassador, a member of the Alamo Area Youth Horse Association and a member of Interscholastic Equestrian Association for one-year in Reining and Horsemanship. She plans to receive a Biomedical Science Degree from Texas A&M University and then obtain a Doctorate in Optometry. She is the daughter of Belinda and William Kelly Martin.

William Coronado has attended NBHS for all four years of his high school career. He has been a four-year member of the NBHS Baseball program, a three-year member of the NBHS Football program, and a two-year member of the National Honor Society. He also coaches middle school 7-on-7 and youth flag football and was crowned the 2017 NBHS Homecoming King. He has spent three years playing for the South Texas Select Baseball team and is a very active member of Oakwood Baptist Church youth group. He is currently leading a baseball bible study on Tuesday nights. He plans on attending Texas Tech University to pursue a degree in Engineering. He is the son of Mark and Mary Coronado.

Janie Aguilar has attended NBHS all four years of her high school career. She has been a member of the NBHS MCJROTC and is currently the Battalion Commander and Marksmanship Team Captain. She is a two-year member of the NBHS National Honor society and NBHS Band a one-year member of HOSA and the French Club. She volunteers and performs with Color Guards throughout the community. She plans to attend a college for four years and then commission into the United States Military. She is the daughter of Mary Jane Aguilar.

Santiago Uribe has attended NBHS for all four years of his high school career. He has been a four-year member of the NBHS Varsity Soccer Team, a member and Co-Founder of the CISV San Antonio/Austin Chapter for four years serving as Secretary his Junior year and as Activities Director his senior year. He is a three-year member of the NBHS Key Club and NBHS Leo Club and a two-year member of the National Honor Society, NBHS Math Club and Business Professionals of America (BPA). His BPA honors include currently serving as the chapter’s reporter and placing 4th at the state level in Entrepreneurship.This semester he served as a member of the NBHS Blue Crew. This past summer, Uribe taught English in Cusco, Peru. He is currently undecided on where he will attend college but he plans to study Finance and Economics and become a private equity fund manager. He is the son of Jose Uribe and Pauline Stevens.

Hannah Jacobs has attended NBHS all four years of her high school career. She has been a member of the volleyball and basketball teams all four years and on varsity for three years. She is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and is currently ranked in the Top 10 Percent of her graduating class. She spent one year as a volunteer tutoring her peers and helping coach younger children. She plans to attend Southern Methodist University to play volleyball. She is the daughter of Steve and Nika Jacobs.

Clancy Forlano has attended NBHS for all four years of his high school career. He has been a member of the Mighty Unicorn Band for four years and served two years as the trumpet section leader. He is also a four-year member of the Marine Corps JROTC and served as the Company Executive Officer. He also participated in UIL Academics for four years and competed in the Current Events and Social Studies competitions. For the past seven years he has been a Boy Scout and recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Outside of school, he is involved with the First United Methodist Youth Group. He plans to attend Georgia Tech and major in Biomedical Engineering. He is the son of Richard and Kyle Forlano.

Deborah Tate has attended NBHS for the past four years. Tate is a two-year member of the National Honor Society Landa Chapter and the Class of 2018 Vice President. She is a graduate of New Braunfels Youth Leadership, a citizen of the 2017 Texas Bluebonnet Girls State and is a two-year member of MU Alpha Theata (Math Club). She has also served as the NBHS varsity mascot, Eugene, for the past two years and is a four-year member of the NBHS Varsity Track and Field team competing in shot put and discuss. Tate is also a volunteer and member of the worship team for Freedom Fellowship Church. She plans to attend Dallas Baptist University or Abilene Christian University upon graduation to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries and master’s degree in Biblical Theology. She is the daughter of Anthony and Lisa Tate.

Trevor Pierce has attended NBHS all four years of high school. Pierce is a four-year member of the NBHS football team, a three-year member of the NBHS Track team, and he has spent two years coaching the middle school 7-on-7 flag football. He was also a member of Business Professional of America and qualified for State with the Broadcast News Team. He served one year as a member of the Wednesday Night Youth Group at Oakwood Baptist Church and one summer season with the football team bible study and served as an escort for the 2017 Mid Texas Symphony Debutante Ball. After graduation he plans to go on the World Race Gap Year program. It is a 9-month mission trip that will take him to 5 or 6 different countries. He feels that his calling is in Ministry. Upon his return, he plans on attending Dallas Baptist University and go into Ministry. He is the son of Mat and Kaysa Pierce.
