Parking for the event is in the large lot next to Strahan Arena (formerly Strahan Coliseum), but has limited access. The guarded lot off of Charles Austin Drive is available for limited mobility parking.

A video of the 2018 New Braunfels High School graduation ceremony will be available to view on June 7, 2018 on this web page and the New Braunfels ISD YouTube channel. The video is also available for purchase on DVD by calling (830) 643-5780 or by emailing email@example.com.
Graduates are being asked to arrive and report to the auxiliary gym at Strahan no later than 6:15 p.m. All bags are subject to search upon entry. Bullhorns, whistles, beach balls, balloons, etc. will not be permitted in the venue. Confetti and streamers are also not permitted on the Texas State University campus. Handicap seating is available on the ground floor, but is limited.
Nearly 600 high school graduates will walk the stage on May 31 during the New Braunfels High School Commencement Ceremony. The Master of Ceremonies for the graduation ceremony will be Jonauh Casaus, the student body president. The ceremony will feature the Top 10 graduates from the class in several speaking roles including the opening sentiments, graduation address, and closing sentiments. This year’s salutatorian, Lauren Callahan, will also give an address followed by the valedictorian, Kathryn Day.

Kathryn “Katy” Day is the valedictorian for the New Braunfels High School Class of 2018. While in high school, she was a two-year member of the NBHS Key Club and served as the treasurer her senior year. She was a four-year member of the NBHS Cross Country Team and a two-year member of the National Honor Society. After graduation, she will be attending Texas A&M University to major in Biomedical Engineering. She is the daughter of Mari Beth and Johnny Day.
Lauren Callahan is the salutatorian for the New Braunfels High School Class of 2018. While attending NBHS, she was a four-year member of the Mighty Unicorn Band and was elected Drum Major her senior year and Section Leader her junior year. She also competed in the UIL Solo & Ensemble Competitions earning a 1st Division rating each year. She has also been active in the Business Professional of America and served as the Vice President for two years. She won 1st place the past two years at the BPA Regional competition and was a national alternate her junior year in the Interview Skills event. Callahan is a two-year member of the National Honor Society, served two years as President of Mu Alpha Theta (Math Club), and competed in math and science UIL Academics events her entire high school career. Her other awards include being named a National Merit Commended scholar. In the fall, she plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business to study business management or finance. She is the daughter of Debi Akeroyd and David Callahan.
